Zone your heating and cooling system
Most people live by a reasonably predictable routine, and there are often significant parts of a home that are not occupied while others are (typically, bedrooms are not occupied during the day, etc.), it is likely worthwhile avoiding heating and/or cooling those areas. This may be achieved automatically by defining zones in your home and installing equipment that controls the heating and cooling in each of those zones.
Through our Contractor Marketplace, you can search for contractors and find the right fit for your project. You find out details about the contractor such as what types of certifications they have and where they are located. You can also directly find reviews when available. From there it is easy to connect and get started with your projects. A quality installation of equipment increases the benefits and efficiency of your new equipment.
Energy efficient products usually have lower operating costs and frequently qualify for rebates.
If you mark an item on your plan as completed, we will track your energy usage and savings over time. We can use this to find additional savings options and to help you save as much as possible.
Through our Finance Marketplace, you can search across different types of financing products to find the right options for you. This includes options for both secured and unsecured loans as well as product specific loans (e.g. solar financing).
No matter how efficient your heating and cooling equipment is, if your home is not properly sealed and insulated, you may not be as comfortable as you could be, and your heating and cooling systems will have to work harder. Additionally, if you have leaky or poorly insulated ductwork, your home might have humidity problems, excessive dust, or rooms that are never quite comfortable. Improving the building shell and sealing ducts can generally significantly improve your home.
Keep your cooling and heating system at peak performance by having a contractor do annual pre-season check-ups. Maintaining your equipment will prevent future problems and unwanted costs.
